Of the new, finished album? I got a chance to listen to it for the first time (while I wasn't preoccupied), last night in my car. I have to say, I think it's waaaaay too overproduced and glossy for fiona. I think this new producer took her edge out and glossed right over everything. The "unfinished", bootleg version is much better, I think. Does anybody else have both and care to compare? I really like the version of "Window" much better on the bootleg, as well, even though it's not finished. Sad to say.

10/14i like 'window' on the bootleg better too. but i do like the new version of the whole album. not better, because i think they're different, but both are good in their own ways. i can see why you think it's too glossy. maybe you're just not used to the new sound though. -

10/14I only own the bootleg. The reason that I have not ran out to get the new copy is that a few of my die hard fiona fans/friends werent as happy with the new one as they were with the bootleg. I will be buying it soon but Im not too excited about it. I still want to listen to it to make my own conclusion...
On another note, Ill be attending the November 23rd concert in seattle! WOO HOO! -

10/17I am so pissed. I had to work all day yesterday and by the time I got around to buying a ticket (in San Francisco) the concert was sold out. I'd go to Seattle (my second home) but WHY IS THE CONCERT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN WEEK! I'd have to take a week off work, which would be bad.

11/16i totally agree! i really like the bootlegged version much more. in the "real" cd her voice doesnt sound free at all. way too produced. i still enjoy the cd, i jus know she needs a better producer who doesnt try and "fix" her sound

11/16I agree that her newest album is a bit more glossy than her previous ones. But I'm still happy with it. All her usual tics & trademarks are still there. I do sorta miss that raw quality of hers. It'll be interesting to hear how that'll translate in concert & on her next album.

11/17Hi guys. I am glad to see that other people aren't impressed with her new producer, either. On her other albums, I felt that I was in the room with her, now she seems slick and far away. But, of course, I still love her music. Her new video is really stupid, too, by the way...not that she's responsible for that, either. I hope this making her "pop" thing will make more people see how awesome she is, though. -

11/17making her music more accessible & mainstream would be good in some ways. But I kinda like having her all to ourselves. One of those hidden treasures that I want to selfishly hoarde. Okay, I might share her with a few good friends on occasion. ;) -

i've not (gasp) heard the bootleg, and on first listen to E.M. I wasn't thrilled, but it is SO growing on me... jeez, does that girl know how to write lyrics or what?!

i was bein lazy... i figured it out and am listening to it right now...
i'm just at the beginning of it, but i think they're both pretty distinct (the bootleg and the non) from the rest of what's out there right now... wonder what the concensus would be if the other had been released first and the bootleg was the Sony release... just a thought... -

11/23I like the bootleg better. Sony wouldn't release it because it wasn't pop enough, i'm sure. But whatever, they're both good. She's amazing. Period.
